Professional Development Academic Unit Creation

Standing up a new academic unit has been quite exciting.  My three-prong approach to structuring the Professional Development academic unit consists of Information Technology, Soft Skills such as customer service, leadership and organizational development training, and an entrepreneurial effort called "HR In a Box".

The College of Continuing Education and Professional Development efforts has focused on creating a robust collection of diverse learning modalities that meet our adult students' needs.  Below are a few examples of Professional Development efforts during the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 Semesters.

Personal and Professional Development Symposium

A group of faculty and staff traveled to the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, VA to deliver training workshops on various topics that are of interest to the corporate, K-12, and career switcher communities. Information Technology
